In the multi-award winner at Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival 2017, documentary filmmaker Hsin-Yao Huang’s first feature film cleverly uses dash-cam footage and voice-over in a funny and daring modern noir.  

Pickle earns a pittance as night watchman at a statue factory specialising in bronze Buddhas. His best pal Belly Button makes even less scrounging for recyclables. Pickle believes that “birth is 8/10 of destiny,” but how did their lives end up like this? One day, they unexpectedly discover dash-cam footage of a murder. Suddenly they feel the wheel of fate turn. This debut narrative feature by Director Hsin-Yao Huang is a free-wheeling delight which glides effortlessly from deadpan comedy to Hitchcockian thriller and humanist drama. 

在佛像工廠擔任夜間警衛的菜埔（莊益增 飾），每天最重要的工作就是深夜幫老闆啟文（戴立忍 飾）開大門。那天凌晨雨很大，撿破爛的換帖兄弟肚財（陳竹昇 飾）帶著即期的咖喱飯來找菜埔看電視，偏偏電視壞掉，肚財於是慫恿菜埔拿出老闆的行車紀錄器看看。兩人於是從一個單純享受情色廣播劇的小確幸夜晚，莫名捲入一個政商勾結、情慾橫流、驚天動地的超完美謀殺計畫。

橫掃多項金馬獎的《大佛普拉斯》，看似怪誕搞笑的黑色喜劇，背後卻是市井小民的一行行血淚，以黑白和彩色的畫面對比，表達身處社會底層者的各種無奈。電影真實的刻劃出最荒謬的甘味人生，引起了世界文化圈驚嘆！
