A complex murder mystery infused with themes of art, politics and sexual identity. On the eve of the presidential elections, a gruesome murder in an artist’s studio  was discovered. Four months earlier, a politically engaged female student Chieh Yang shared that space with a painter Jiang-Ze Jhong, who had turned his back on his life as an activist. The two don’t get along at first, but when Chieh learns that Jhong-Ze was once an activist, she encourages him to become involved in politics again. Stylish and mesmerising, Director Hung-I Chen spins a multi-layered drama and murder mystery infused with themes of art, politics and sexual identity.

2016年台灣總統大選的投票日，女大生楊婕（張寗 飾）被發現陳屍租屋處，且雙眼遭人挖出，屍首的前方，放著一幅美麗的畫像。四個月前，楊婕搬入房東兼畫家江中澤（林哲熹 飾）的公寓，並被自己仰慕的立法委員章耀州（鄭人碩 飾）賞識，加入其工作團隊；楊婕的跨性別好友NaNa（張喬翔 飾）也找到了日籍男友，生活正看似好轉...。閉廠工人臥軌抗議那晚，楊婕與江中澤相戀，從此躍為他畫布上的女神，卻也步上了毀滅之路…。楊婕為什麼會死？究竟是誰殺了她？《自畫像》以一樁命案揭開了這社會上的真實面貌，以及人性裡七宗罪的漫溢氾濫。在這座城市裡，每個人用自己的方式衝撞著體制、社會、性別與愛情。而活在激情和慾望下的，則是這時代裡躁動不安的靈魂。
