Submissions Now Open for 7th Taiwan Film Festival in Australia 《第七屆》澳洲台灣影展 開放徵件

The Taiwan Film Festival in Australia has been an annual event since 2018, offering a professional platform for Taiwanese and Asian Australian filmmakers to showcase their works. This festival aims to (a) offer local Taiwanese residents the chance to appreciate artistic pieces reflecting their heritage and culture, (b) establish an artistic platform to introduce and celebrate Taiwanese and Asian Australian cultures to diverse cultural groups, and (c) foster international co-production opportunities between Taiwan and Australia.

 

The 7th Taiwan Film Festival in Australia is scheduled to run from July 25th to September 8th, 2024, across multiple cities, including Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Hobart, Brisbane and Adelaide.

 

Festival Program Categories:

 

·      International Co-Production Feature Film (duration over 60 minutes, must include Taiwan among the production countries) 國際合資長片作品

·      Made in Taiwan Feature Film (duration over 60 minutes, must be produced in Taiwan) 台灣長片作品

·      International Short Film Competition (duration under 30 minutes, must be produced in Australia or Taiwan) 國際短片競賽

·      Indigenous Short Film Selection (duration under 30 minutes, must originate from Taiwan) 原住民短片作品

 

Submission Terms and Conditions

 

International Co-Production Feature Film Category:

-       Must include Taiwan among the production countries.

-       Must be over 60 minutes.

-       Must be completed after Dec 2022.

 

Made in Taiwan Feature Film Category:

-       Must be produced in Taiwan.  

-       Must be over 60 minutes.

-       Must be completed after Dec 2022.

 

International Short Film Competition & Indigenous Short Film Selection:

-       Must be produced in Australia or Taiwan, or at least one person must identify as Taiwanese in the cast or in the production team.

-       If the short film is made in Australia, the film must have at least one Asian representation in the cast or in the production team.  

-       Must be less than 30 minutes.

-       Must be completed after Dec 2022.

 

 

-       All films must be submitted before 31 March 2024.

-       Online Screener with a secure password or high-resolution file is highly preferred.

-       Submission fee must be made in AUD as collected by FilmFreeway. 

 

Selected Films Must Provide

- Poster and film stills (300 dpi & 3-5 photos)

- Trailer (with and without English subtitle)

- Feature film must provide DCP hard drive or DCP format download link.

 

Dispatch of the Prints of Selected Films

- DCP shipment information will follow upon acceptance of the film.

- The Festival will pay for round trip transportation of the print. However, if the print is to be sent to another festival, the receiver should cover the charges.

- All prints will be returned within four weeks after the festival. If the film has to be returned to another address, this has to be marked on the application form as well as the desired date of arrival at the return address.https://filmfreeway.com/TaiwanFilmFestivalinAustralia
