A compelling documentary charts the band’s turbulent journey, navigating a meteoric rise to international acclaim alongside the emotionally chasmic creative and personal conflicts between sibling band members CHANG Kai-ting and CHANG Kai-hsiang, with drummer TU Chia-chin constantly acting as the steady musical and emotional mediator.

The narrative follows their ambitious 23-country "The World" tour, rawly documenting the internal friction that inevitably accompanies grueling international travel. The CHANG siblings struggle to navigate overlapping boundaries as both blood family and fiercely uncompromising creative partners, while TU faces difficult artistic compromises under real-world pressures. As the exhaustive tour schedule progresses, the band’s stable, energetic facade begins to splinter, pushing them toward the brink of a potential breakup.

Directed by Alulu KUO, the film transcends typical music documentary tropes by brilliantly juxtaposing Elephant Gym's electric, math-precise stage presence with quiet moments of backstage isolation and raw domestic conflict. Through beautifully mixed concert recordings and unvarnished fly-on-the-wall footage, KUO delivers a deeply honest, grounded portrait of artistic self-determination and the unspoken personal costs of maintaining an independent global music career.

「大象體操」自 2013 年成立以來，便以節奏複雜、結構前衛的創作風格受到關注。紀錄長片《大象體操：比夢境更真實》記錄了這支來自高雄的獨立樂團，在 2023 年展開橫跨 23 國的世界巡迴之際，團員張凱婷、張凱翔與鼓手涂嘉欽在音樂創作與現實壓力之間的拉扯。

影片的核心軌跡跟隨著他們 2023 年橫跨 23 國的「世界」（The World）巡迴演出，赤裸地記錄了高壓國際巡演中必然伴隨的內部摩擦。身為兄妹的張凱婷（CHANG Kai-ting）與張凱翔（CHANG Kai-hsiang），在生活中是至親，在工作上卻是必須理性講求效率的創作夥伴，家庭情感的依附與音樂理念的碰撞，讓兩人在爭執時往往帶著更深的情感傷害；而鼓手涂嘉欽則在現實壓力下做出了艱難的藝術妥協。隨著精疲力竭的巡演推進，樂團穩定的表象開始碎裂，甚至被推向了分崩離析的邊緣。

導演郭晉汝打破了傳統音樂紀錄片的公式，大膽將大象體操在舞台上電光石火、精準如數學般的狂放魅力，與幕後幽暗的孤獨和赤裸的家庭衝突並置。透過調音完美的現場震撼演出影像與毫無修飾的「壁上觀」紀實鏡頭，導演呈獻了一幅關於藝術自主性、以及三十多歲的音樂人在理想與現實之間搖擺的真實畫卷，深刻映照出維持一支獨立國際樂團所必須付出的隱形代價。
