From the talented emerging director of THE ISLAND THAT ALL FLOW BY (TWFF, 2016) comes another poetic masterpiece that delves into the intricacies of realism through the lens of cinematic art. This film explores the issue of social disparity in Taiwan by portraying a family whose fate is intertwined with pigeon racing. Collaborating with the award-winning Director of Audiography, Tu Duu-Chih, and the esteemed cinematographer of THE SILENT VOICE (TWFF, 2021), Chen Chi-Wen, this remarkable work captures the essence of storytelling through a seamless fusion of a remarkable blend of visual and auditory elements. 

Seven years ago, Master Ching's race pigeon 043 represented his sole chance of winning a race, but to his dismay, it never returned, much like their missing son Shih. However, years later, pigeon 043 mysteriously reemerges at their house, rekindling their fading hopes. As the family members find themselves consumed by the depths of reality, they begin to lose their way. Set against the backdrop of the tranquil mid-southern Taiwanese subtropical countryside, infused with the richness of traditional folk culture, the film seamlessly blends elements of realism, creating an allegorical depiction of the land.

以電視電影《川流之島》成名、量少質精的詹京霖導演，睽違多年再度推出自編自導長片，不負眾望在金馬入圍多達十三個獎項並斬獲最佳影片。本片承載導演的一貫的社會關懷，選擇了罕見的「賽鴿」題材，冷峭地凝視一個因賭將家庭拖入深淵的男人，以影載道，聚焦在台灣的城鄉差距等經濟社會困境。

阿欽（游安順 飾）是個把人生和家庭賭在賽鴿的魯蛇男，兒子失蹤多年讓他脾氣變得更暴躁，妻子阿敏（楊麗音 飾）忍受著丈夫的固執與暴虐，百無聊賴的女兒夢露（李夢苡樺 飾）則想離開這個沒有希望的鄉下。有天女兒把不良少年小虎（胡智強 飾）帶回家養傷，從此住下，一家人的關係和賽鴿事業竟有了奇妙變化，阿欽能夠時來運轉嗎？
