Award-winning Taiwanese American director Arvin Chen returns with his highly anticipated new feature film after a hiatus of 9 years from his previous feature works. With its stunning blend of magical realism, MAMA BOY invites audiences to immerse themselves in a bittersweet and ambiguous exploration of human connections.
Xiao-hong, on the verge of turning 30, lives a highly regimented lifestyle with his mother and struggles to find confidence in interacting with women. One day, he encounters a mama-san named Lele, who is around the same age as his mother. Suddenly, an inexplicable deep affection ignites between the two. As they wander through dark alleyways under the starlight, their enigmatic connection is short-lived, disrupted by the interference and judgement of outsiders. Are they seeking true love, or are they two wandering souls yearning for solace and comfort?
屢獲柏林影展的 NETPAC 大獎和銀熊最佳短片獎等國際影展肯定的台裔美籍導演陳駿霖，睽違九年強勢回歸，帶來萬眾矚目的大銀幕新作品《初戀慢半拍》。以驚奇的敘事手法，描寫都市愛情中的酸甜苦辣。陳駿霖常以異想天開的點子和對人的細膩觀察，在寫實的都會場景裡，添加奇幻童趣的色彩。
靦腆呆萌的小洪（柯震東 飾）30歲在即，但是依舊母胎單。生活中唯一的重要女性只有過度保護兒子的控制狂媽媽（于子育 飾），卻因此使他缺乏自信和社交能力，親友安排的相親約會更是屢屢尷尬收場。然而在某次被帶去「轉大人」的路上，小洪意外遇到了媽媽桑樂樂姊（徐若瑄 飾），難以名狀愛情火花逐漸產生。這段姊弟戀是否能克服年齡及背景等外在干擾，成為雖然慢半拍，但來得剛剛好的速配真愛呢？

About Arvin Chen 導演介紹
Arvin Chen is a talented writer and director who splits his time between Taipei and Los Angeles. Arvin’s feature films biography including AU REVOIR TAIPEI (2010), WILL YOU STILL LOVE ME TOMORROW (2013) and MAMA BOY (2022).His achievements at prestigious film festivals highlight his talent and contribute to his reputation as a promising filmmaker in the industry.
編劇與導演陳駿霖定居於台北與洛杉磯。於南加州大學電影製作碩士班（USC's School of Cinematic Arts）取得了碩士學位。陳導的首部電影作品《一頁台北》，該片在柏林影展上首映，並由知名導演文溫德斯（Wim Wenders）擔任執行製片人。《一頁台北》展現了陳駿霖在幽默和浪漫元素上的巧妙結合，引人入勝且令人愉悅。
2013年，陳導推出了他的第二部長片作品《明天記得愛上我》。同樣於柏林影展上首映，並在紐約翠貝卡影展的世界電影競賽中展出。該片展示了陳導演的多樣才華，能夠以深度和敏感探索複雜的情感主題。2022年推出第三部長片《初戀慢半拍》，陳導的作品彰顯了他在故事講述方面的才華，並且能夠創作出引人共鳴的電影作品。
